Background:
A sole proprietorship is an unregistered form a business, which does not have a separate legal identity from that of its proprietor. There is no separate legal entity that is being created and all the incomes of the business are clubbed in the return of income of the proprietor itself. Sole proprietorship form of business is generally used by the very small traders and MSME organizations which are into unorganised sectors in India.

Procedure:
There is no prescribed procedure for registering for a sole proprietorship business, however, various government schemes are made available, if the business is MSME registered.
